Geologic Composite
A composite of the different sediment deposits, that make up the unique beaches on the island Kona in Hawaii.
We have all seen white sand before, but to go into more detail the hawaiian white sand is biogenic, which means is comes from the activity and remains of organisms.
Now these two more exotic sand types are both formed from the process that gave birth to the islands themselves, volcanism. Both sands are formed from the erosion of volcanic sediments.
