    Mahabalipuram was an ancient port of southern India along the east coast. It is located near Chennai. There is an ancient shore temple as well as huge rock cut sculptures depicting Hindu mythology. This monuments are classified as World heritage site by UNESCO. It is believed to be carved during 8th century. This monolithic rock cut cave is called the Tiger cave and a popular picnic spot.
