    The two female ichneumon wasps were each depositing their eggs many feet apart, when one moved near the other. This shows the one parasite with her long ovipositor raised up and curved back at the end of her abdomen, and aimed straight down between her legs into the hole in the dead beech tree. She deposits them in tr on the larvae of another insect.
