Having spotted at bushbuck Saba had her eyes fixed on it. I love the intensity in her gaze. I spent 6 weeks studying the hunting behaviour and how that behaviour developed in 7 young lions in Zambia. At 17 months old Saba became part of the second successful mammalian kill by the group of 7 (although she wasn't involved in the first one). Even at this young age the intensity in the stalking behaviour is clear, as seen in this image, and being able to witness it was amazing.
