Turned away from the Lower Antelope Canyon due to monsoon flooding, I reassessed the day and decided to visit Horseshoe Bend. Worried about the bright, overhead noonday light, I hiked up the hill and down to the canyon with little enthusiasm. To my delight, the conditions were workable, and I felt the enormity of the Earth's great work. All I am is a speck in its wake.
