The nobleman character puts on his crown moments before his turn on stage. The Chinese Opera actors in this traveling troupe don't get paid very much, they have to sleep in the hot sweaty crawl space under the stage at night. They spend most of the year away from home, traveling through out southern China. But once they put on the costume, it's a dream come true for the passionate actors. They get to play kings and queens on stage to the cheers of the audience below.
