Botafumeiro
This giant thurible(Botafumeiro) can be seen in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia Spain. Medieval pilgrims walked the Way of St. James(popularly called El Camino to the Cathedral( home of the relics of St. James, one of the Apostles of Jesus.Amall church was built over the tomb of St. James about 819 AD This was destroyed by a Moorish army in 997 The present cathedral is predominantly Romanesque. Building began in 1060 andcompleted in 1211. St. John Paul11 visited in 1982.
