Barges at Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses
Barges in the canal at Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses, in France's Burgundy region. A barge trip through this part of France is one of the loveliest holidays you can imagine. Throw a bike on the roof and you've got a getaway with the Made in Heaven label. Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses takes its name from the town's seven locks that once allowed barges to step 34 metres up or down, a vital link in the chain between the Seine and the Loire rivers.
