One of the most beautiful places for fall colors in my opinion are the mountains of North Carolina. I make multiple trips to the mountains every fall to photograph the amazing change in colors. One of my favorite places to visit is the rugged Linville Gorge area. This gorge has been carved out by the Linville River and makes for some amazing views. This shot was taken from the top of table rock mountain looking down into a section of the gorge during peak fall colors.
