I visited Shanghai for a business meeting in 2006 and on my day off I took a train to what is called the "Venice of China;" Suzhou. I have no idea how I managed to buy the correct train ticket given the language barrier, and just with the departure hour I was able to spot my gate. In Suzhou, I hired a small boat (not exactly a gondola) to experience the Chinese version of Venice. The experience was lovely. Just as we went under one of its many bridges I was able to capture this peculiar photo.
