Clown behind bars
Taken at Apo Island Protected Landscape and Seascape. After the devastation of the coral reef during Tropical Storm Washi in 2011, protective netting were installed in some parts of the marine sanctuary to stabilize the substrate and allow corals and other lifeforms to recolonize. Four years after the typhoon, marine wildlife are thriving again under these nets. I was lucky to be part of the research team allowed to survey inside the recovering reef as tourists are off limits at the moment.
