Monastery Sretenje is located in exceptional natural surroundings, on the plateau below the top of Ovcar. On the basis of researches it is supposed that the monastery was built in 16th century and it was demolished and burnt several times in the past. It was reconstructed in 19th century thanks to the efforts of Bishop Nikifor Maksimovic. Only three manuscripts were left today in Sretenje: Gospel, the Virgin Mary canons and Menaion for the month of June as a work of our church literature.
