Manistee River meanders in fall colors
At the High Rollaways where 100 years ago logs were rolled down the banks of the Manistee River to float to the saw mill miles away. The lumber was sent to rebuild Chicago after the great fire of 1871 where over 100,000 home burnt. The river has recovered and the forests have returned.
