Thyreus nitidulus
Covered by furry branched flattened hair in blue and black, Neon-cuckoo bee has purple-tinged transparent wings with strong built and reinforced thorax. Their females seek out of Amegilla cingulata to lay egg into a partly completed brood cell. The larval cuckoo bee consumes the larder and later emerges from the cell.
Captured in Merapi National Park. No macro lens in my gearbag, I shot it with Tamron AF 200-500mm f5-6.3 Di LD SP.
