As I walked the paths of a favorite state park, I came across this gnarled tree root. It was interesting in its own right, but then I noted the small "bouquet" of wild flowers "held" in the curl of roots to the right in the image. It gave the scene a warm, inviting feel even as it prompted me to smile and make this image.
