    Great Kills Park on the eastern shore of Staten Island, NY is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area operated by the National Park Service. Yesterday was my first-ever visit to the park and to the eastern shore, and I enjoyed it immensely. In the far distance is the New Jersey shoreline and another portion of the Gateway NRA at Sandy Hook.
