Jinli Street in Chengdu (China) is the main touristy street. However, there are several narrow alleys that cut through Jinli Street and in one of the narrow alleys I saw an old man resting on a chair behind a wooden cart. He was well isolated from the hustle-bustle of Jinli street. The lanterns added an enigmatic element to the photograph. However, I chose to do it black & white so as to capture the stillness of the scene rather than the vibrancy of the lanterns.
