Morning on the Anangucocha Lake
The only transportation to the Napo Wildlife Center in Yasuni National Park in the Ecuadorian Amazon is via dugout canoes across Anangucocha Lake, home to such creatures as anaconda, black caiman, and three species of piranha. While nearby howler monkeys share their wakeup call, one of the natives indigenous of the Kitchwa Anangu Community patiently waits to take visitors from Napo to the Canopy Observation Tower.
