Korzok - The Land of the Changpa Nomads
The Korzok monastery and holy Stupas overlooking the Korzok village is located on the banks of Tso (Lake) Moriri in India. The monastery is believed to be five century old and a crutial node on the ancient trade route between Ladakh and Spiti. Korzok - meaning "In the Midst of Mountains" is home to Changpa Nomad shepherds who trade "pashmina" - a high quality wool, with Kashmir and Himachal valleys since ancient times.
