Looking for whales in the Great Whale Sea inevitably leads to special encounters with so many vital species. As we watched this black bear from our boat, we were mesmerized. It scoured among the stones, turning them over looking for crabs, indifferent to the slow clicks of my camera, trusting of the humans that are so few and far between. Here, the Great Bear meets the Great Whale and there is nowhere like it on the planet.
