Welcome to Cetacea Lab
"Welcome to Cetacea Lab" reads the sign outside a humble cabin along the shore of Gil Island. Here, in the heart of the Great Whale Sea, Hermann and Janie, out of the driftwood along their stony beach, built a cozy home and whale research lab in the early 2000's.
This spot, granted to them by the iron-willed Gitga'at (some of the best people I've ever met), is a hub for Great Bear conservationists.
