De Schreierstoren
This semi-circular tower was originally built as a defence tower on the city walls in 1481. There is a myth that the women used to weep there for their husbands and lovers who were going off to war or out fishing. On the wall is a very green plaque commemorating Henry Hudson who set sail from there in his ship "The Half Moon" to discover North America. In 1609 he discovered the island of Manhattan in New Amsterdam (New York) The tower is now a cafe and restaurant.
