This image was captured in Volcano Arenal National Park in Costa Rica, Central America. On an early morning drive from the village of La Fortuna to Monteverde, around the shore of Volcano Arenal Lagoon, this magnificent iguana was spotted in the undergrowth. I found the use of monochrome dramatically enhanced the lizards armoured spines and the brilliant patterns created by its scales. This photograph was taken with a Canon EOS 6D using a 24-105mm Canon Lens. (f/5.6, 1/200 sec, IOS 100).
