Union Pacific Locomotive 7471 at the Nipton California crossing southbound to Los Angeles from Salt Lake City with over 60 container cars and 6 locomotives. Two locomotives in the rear are necessary to push the train over the Cima grade in the Mojave National Preserve. The rear locomotives are added in Las Vegas for southbound trains. Nipton is an ideal place to watch trains.
