A wry smile
An Arctic fox poised in a small clearing, on a cold late autumn morning, in the Westfjordlands of Iceland. White in colour as to camouflage with its icy surroundings, and feeding on the plentiful bird life found on this volcanic island located high on the Arctic Circle, the Icelandic Arctic fox is the only native terrestrial mammal to Iceland. The use of monochrome enhanced this wonderful scene of a white fox on a dark background, highlighting the Arctic fox like a negative exposure.
