I was with a photography group in Thimpu, Bhutan 2 years ago. It was dawn, very cold. The rest of the group was hiking up a small hill to photograph a Buddha statue. It was too steep for me so I remained at the base of the hill. I turned around, away from the hill, and discovered this beautiful landscape below me. The early golden light touched the morning mist that enveloped the hills and homes, softly awakening the sleeping town. It certainly pays to wake up early to enjoy the golden hour.
