Black Sand Slumber
Recently I had the pleasure of visiting the Big Island of Hawaii, for a long awaited family trip. During our travels we came across a lovely black sand beach near the island's southern tip. And it was here that we came across a group of turtles sunbathing near the shore. For safety, the area was blocked off with rocks so that no one could disturb them. This shot was captured with a Nikon 55-200mm zoom lens, at a distance of about 40 feet.
