    This is my friend's dog Emmy. She is a beautiful and sweet Australian Shepherd, and like nearly 25% of that breed, she is deaf. My friend's partner taught Emmy a kind of sign language that he designed. In this picture, Emmy is looking up at me, not sure what I'm trying to say to her because she doesn't recognize my hand movements!
