Midnight Festivities
This was taken during one of the oldest temple festivals (A 1400+ year tradition, the event being held annually at Peruvanam, Kerala, India) - the event begins in the evening and goes on all night until dawn the next morning. Temple elephants from nearby temples arrive and line up for this event, which can involve more than 7 temple elephants, at any point of time during the festival.
Note the mahouts(elephant caretakers) peacefully catching a nap at around 4 am at the feet of the elephants.
