This fellow would put up with no competition, not from other elk, not from humans, and not from cars. In this picture, he had just dispatched another giant elk with his harem down to the other end of the road, and they were busy loudly insulting each other from a distance. (At least, I think they were insulting each other. Maybe they were discussing the problems they were having with their womenfolk!)
