    I spotted the Alligator sunning itself while walking beside a lake in South Carolina. I didn't even realize it was there until I heard something in the grass. This is an open area by the sidewalk. It is not fenced and it is not protected. They are free to roam. Walk slowly and quietly and they will not bother you. Upon spotting this one, I believe mother and father were near by as I saw them too in separate places. I would assume they were watching their baby.
