During a Christmas blizzard last year, I stopped at Jackson's National Elk Refuge to photograph the bull elk who had gathered there. I watched the bulls brace themselves against the wind and blowing snow. It was surreal to watch them seem to disappear when the wind kicked up the snow and then reappear again as the gusts died down. As nasty as it was, I didn't last very long out there, but it certainly was beautiful.
