We were caught in a summer downpour in the Mara this May, and decided to make the best use of it. We rushed back to the place where we chanced upon a group lions napping that noon and found two young males getting drenched by the rains. It was almost sunset and light was falling fast. I prayed that one of them shake his mane off the water drops and it happened when my patience was fading too like the light.
