Catching Money
In Myanmar, the donor for construction/renovation of a Pagoda throws money from the top of it while celebrating a huge monastic ceremony; multi-divisional donations, giving utensils to Burmese monks and nuns, inviting locals from all directions, and serving free food. Usually, small notes like 500kyats(approx 0.50$) are thrown but sometimes you will see a 5000ks note. There are multiple celebrations each year, every time a Pagoda is being built or repaired from natural hazards.
