Snaefellsjokul
The peak of snow-clad Snaefells, a mountain that can be seen from as far away as Reykjavik. It is the home to Snaefellsjokul, a glacier, and the mountain itself can be reached by road, but is usually cut by snow at this altitude. This volcanic mountain was the inspiration for Jules Verne's story, 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth'.
