I briefly met this young man when I was leaving a cave in the Chapada Diamantina area, around noon of a hot day. I kindly asked if he would mind if a photographed him and his horse. He promptly turned the horse sideways and gave me this beautiful serious look. One day I will go back and give him a framed copy of this photo, which is probably the best portrait I have ever taken.
