New Years is a special time in Haiti because January 1st is also their Independence Day. We all celebrate in different ways, but at the Cormier Plage Resort along the Northern coast near the popular Labadee beaches (known for being some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean). Every New Years, dozens of paper lanterns are released into the air. Watching them drift into the air as we all countdown to the start of a new year... just a great way to celebrate the a new beginning!
