Superstition Mountains
The beautiful Superstition Mountains in Arizona allegedly boasts an elusive and legendary cache of gold. Part of the Superstition Wilderness Area near Phoenix, it plays a significant role in the legend of the Lost Dutchman Mine, purportedly discovered by German immigrant Jacob Waltz who on his deathbed in 1891 disclosed its location to a Phoenix boarding-house owner.
