Like many U.S. locations, we had the warmest average December temperature in recorded history here in Washington DC. In fact, we broke the old record by more than 5 degrees! The warm autumn and early winter has produced some unusual sights in area gardens. I went to the National Arboretum on Jan 3rd; this fall blooming camellia and honey bee combo was a real surprise.
