This is the finale of the 4th of July fireworks at my brother's farm in rural Walworth County, South Dakota, USA taken back in 2011. I put the camera on the tripod and opened up the shutter for 30 seconds when he lit the fuse and hoped for the best. Because South Dakota allows a wide variety of fireworks to be purchased the week around the 4th, it is common to see multiple home displays on the night of the 4th throughout the rural areas.
