The Chief Headman of the Rautes with his Raute fellows.
The Rautes are the last surviving nomadic hunters-gatherers of the Himalayas. Today, the community counts 156 persons. They have their own language, culture and religion. They migrate and live in the remote Himalayan forests and have done that since ancient times. The Rautes are considered as the last aborigines of Nepal Himalaya.
