This is a photo taken in the NW of Cambodia- in an area that was one of the last strongholds of the Khmer Rouge. It is the view from the house of the veranda of Ta Mok's house- a Khmer Rouge leader. The Khmer Rouge had delusional ideas around absolute self sufficiency and introduced agriculture reforms that resulted in famine and death (along with crimes against humanity carried out by the party). What I like about this photo is that it could be last week or 13 years ago.
