Without much prior knowledge of Yosemite National Park, we decided to hit up the Mirror Lake Trail... we soon found out that the lake is dry in summer and fall. Continuing around what would be the lake, we became separated and reunited with the trail over the course of a few hours, until we suddenly stumbled upon this peaceful garden of cairns. The great granite domes above captured all sound and held the wind to its chest. Despite the silence, whispers of the Earth can be heard all around.
