Townsends Solitaire
On Dec. 23, 2015, I had a rare visitor, a Townsends Solitaire. This species lives along the Rocky Mountains and my home is on the east coast of New Brunswick, Canada. We get one of these birds spotted in the province every 5 to 10 years. I have only been bird watching for about 2 years and to have a rare bird like this, sit in a tree, in my front yard and pose for me, is a dream come true. It was the perfect gift from nature, to these bird watcher. I had seen it briefly on Dec. 12, 2016.
