After five days of worship, its time for the Goddess Durga to leave for her home. This happens through the process of immersion of the idol in a nearby lake or river. The picture in concern is a scene from the streets of Kolkata, where the huge idol, tied with rope against long bamboo poles are carried by a large group of men on their shoulders. They are about to immerse the idol in the Hooghly river.
