    Reported by:

Sri Lanka, Weheranahena Temple. I met some of the young monks in Weheranahena Temple, i was surprised by how they believed and strongly desired to be buddhist monks in life. Many monks are actually orphans but most of them become monks by choice. They need the permission from their parents, and once they got permission the leave home to live in temples where they study many disciplines and practice buddhist doctrine. They were happy to be photographed and show their pride of being monks.
