    Every 16th and 17 of January in Maro people celebrate La fiesta de Sant Anton, since the 17th century. San Anton is the patron saint of all animals and therefore on the 17th there is always a special mass for animals were animals are welcome to asist. Maro belongs to Nerja and has around 800 habitants.
