Black kites are the most common raptors found near human settlements. They can be distinguished from other raptors through their forked tail. These kites rarely hunt and mostly depend on scavenging. Being scavengers, Black Kites play a great role in cleaning up the environment. Without the presence of such scavengers, dead remains of plants and animals will keep rotting, leading to the spread of diseases.
