Valle de Cocoros, Colombia
In the heart of the coffee region in Colombia's mountains is a town called Salento. Just outside of the village is an astounding valley, with wax palms towering over the cattle pastures. Farther up the trail the valley narrows and the cloud forest over takes the pastures. I was searching for the endangered spectacled bear which is rumored to occasionally make an appearance in the area. But no such luck, which is why I am posting trees instead. They're a lot easier to find.
