This picture was taken on a cold (for Florida) December day at St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge near Tallahassee, Florida. This place gets a lot of visitors during the sweltering summer. Most are hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the numerous alligators that call this place home. However, I love coming here during the dreary, off-season and appreciating the beauty of Florida when it's not so green and lush. On this particular day, it was literally just me....and one lonely bird.
